Train tracks flooded in Leeds as wet weather causes misery for commuters
  • 4 months ago
Network Rail had their work cut out for them as train tracks flooded in Kirkstall.

Teams were busy working on the waterlogged rail lines, near to the Kirkstall Bridge Inn, in Bridge Road, throughout the morning.

Closer to Kirkstall Abbey, the River Aire had come as close to its banks as is possible without flooding.

The miserable weather caused chaos for commuters, as trains were cancelled on what is, for many, the first day back in work after the festive period.

Stations including Kirkstall Forge, which is normally busy with office works, was transformed into a ghost town. Buses were put on to replace the cancelled trains.
