00:00 - Everybody listen, this is important.
00:03 I'm gonna show you guys something.
00:04 And when I show you what I'm gonna show you,
00:06 don't freak out.
00:07 - I will say that this was an awesome movie
00:12 as we get started here.
00:13 And I had to put the onesie on
00:15 so the family can curl up on the couch
00:17 and enjoy a good Christmas movie,
00:21 which was just fun to do.
00:23 - It was a blast, man.
00:26 Like every single day was so much fun
00:28 and the budget was nice and the food was real.
00:31 (laughing)
00:33 - The snacks were fire, bro.
00:35 It was like a white man giving me food every day.
00:37 Now we can't, bro.
00:40 - Nah, I'm gonna just be honest, bro.
00:42 You asked me, you in a onesie,
00:43 I'm giving you the real, daily mix.
00:45 (laughing)
00:47 - Arizona daily mix gets the real.
00:49 - You know what it was.
00:51 - Well, you're working with Eddie Murphy
00:53 and Tracee Ellis Ross, you know,
00:54 I mean, you have it all there.
00:56 But of course, Jillian, you were amazing.
00:59 I will say, was this part written for you?
01:01 'Cause you played it so great.
01:04 - Honestly, I was supposed to just show up
01:06 and serve Chris food.
01:07 (laughing)
01:08 So that was my original job.
01:10 - But she was so good.
01:11 - No, this part was not written for me.
01:13 I'm sure they went out to very talented actresses before me,
01:16 but I was there.
01:20 - I don't think they went to one talented person.
01:23 (laughing)
01:26 - Reggie told me they saw you and they said, we're done.
01:28 - Well, that's very nice.
01:30 But I will just say, I had the most fun shooting this film.
01:34 I usually, to get, oh, I was about to get very real,
01:37 but maybe I should have, it's the daily mix.
01:39 - It's the daily mix.
01:40 - I get very anxious before I shoot,
01:43 like almost to the point where I'm like,
01:45 should I be an actor in the daily mix?
01:47 But I will say I showed up on this,
01:49 I had the best time every single day.
01:52 It was such a joyful experience.
01:55 Everyone came with their A game
01:56 and everyone was just so delighted to be working
02:00 and playing together and in each other's company.
02:03 So it just felt like such a,
02:06 it was a really special experience for me.
02:08 - Yeah.
02:09 - Yeah, super fun.
02:11 - Yeah, I was gonna say, what I love is that
02:12 everybody looks like they played together,
02:14 but you guys weren't all together, were you, for this movie?
02:17 It was kind of like where you had to really
02:19 use your imagination, that's what the movie's about.
02:21 - Oh, they were there.
02:22 You know, the weird thing is, Reggie was very smart.
02:25 We were there the whole time.
02:26 Like when we were watching,
02:28 the only scenes we weren't at were like the track fields
02:31 and a couple of the house scenes,
02:33 but for the most part, we were there.
02:35 So that was really cool because Eddie and Reggie
02:39 really wanted us to be there in case,
02:42 there's just so much improv in the movie,
02:44 it was really important that we were there
02:46 with Nick Offerman, our third village person,
02:49 in case, you know, stuff went down.
02:52 And we wanted to react to it in real time.
02:54 And so-- - So smart.
02:55 - Yeah, super smart.
02:57 So they, the actors, we would all rehearse
02:59 and block together, and then Nick, Chris, and I
03:02 would go into these sound booths offstage,
03:04 and we could see everything on camera,
03:05 but they could still hear us in their ears.
03:07 And then they would look at our little figurines
03:09 and little lights would light up and stuff.
03:10 It was really genius how they did it,
03:12 but I think it feels so cohesive
03:15 because we were there so much of the time.
03:18 - Yeah, we got to watch it, and then me and Robin
03:20 love to write, make jokes all the time.
03:23 So we're watching scenes that we know
03:25 we're gonna insert in later, and we're able to just
03:27 like come up, we're able to riff off
03:29 of what we just saw right there.
03:31 So it just makes it fit so much better
03:32 because we're already churning ideas in that direction.
03:36 So it was dope in every way.
03:38 - That's great.
03:38 Well, this is a great movie.
03:39 I appreciate you taking the time out.
03:40 And I know we got to wrap up, but very quickly,
03:42 each one of you give me your favorite Christmas movie.
03:45 - "Candy Cane Lane."
03:46 - Oh, well.
03:48 All right, before "Candy Cane Lane,"
03:49 - "Candy Cane Lane." - "Trading Spaces."
03:50 - "Candy Cane Lane."
03:51 - "Trading Places."
03:52 - "Trading Spaces" is a design show.
03:54 - "Boomerang" is really my favorite
03:55 because I watched that at Christmas.
03:56 - "Trading Places."
03:58 - "Mixed Nuts."
03:59 - Ooh.
04:01 - Wow.
04:01 - Our after-run film.
04:02 Check it out.
04:03 - There it is.
04:04 - "Candy Cane Lane."
04:05 - "Candy Cane Lane" is the one.
04:07 (all laughing)
04:08 - Thank you, three.
04:08 Thank you very much, Trace, Julia, and Robin.
04:11 - Thank you so much.
04:11 It's so good to see you.
04:12 - Thank you, man.
04:13 Appreciate you, brother.
04:14 Good seeing you.
04:15 (upbeat music)
