Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad along with other Muslim leaders and NGOs in the country held a press conference and event on Tuesday (Nov 14) to call for an end to the blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

00:09 What they want to do is to cut off all supplies of food, medicine and water to the people of Gaza.
00:25 It is quite possible to do that. That is the intention of Israel.
00:31 But of course the process is taking a long time.
00:37 What they do is not only cut off supplies to Gaza, but they must kill the people there by rockets and bombs and the like.
00:52 Including bombing the hospitals and schools, even places where people seek safety.
01:03 But what is different from 1939 is that in 1939, when the world observed the Nazis trying to kill or commit genocide against the Jews,
01:18 the world went to war against Germany.
01:23 But here, nobody is fighting for the people of Gaza.
01:30 In fact, the Israelis have spread the fight even to the other parts of the Palestinian land.
01:42 So I hope that with more knowledge, we can think of something we can do.
01:48 And I think there are things that we can do to, if not prevent the Israelis from killing the Palestinians, at least to lessen the burden of the Palestinians.
02:03 The United States is given the freedom to allow Israel to continuously commit such horrendous, horrific crimes.
02:19 It is not just about killing. It is genocide, it is ethnic cleansing, you name it. Mass massacre.

02:33 And you can just understand that this is what Israel is allowed to do.
02:39 What we are trying to get is that the message of this blockade must be removed,
02:48 must come from somebody that all over the world is expecting something, some statement that would be able to open the eyes to do whatever we could to make sure that the blockade would be somehow removed.
03:04 Because we have aids, we have been given so many, whatever, whether it is food or medical or whatever, it doesn't mean anything if it cannot reach our victims.
03:19 Now we need action. So at least, as what was mentioned by Mr. Gwesmin, to open the border.

03:43 But they openly said, why can't we say we open borders, we want to send food, we want to send medicine, we want to send peacekeepers at least.
