Throughout the day on November 7th, 2023, Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office deputies followed, ran the license plates of, ran warrant checks on, and stopped several motorists.

A few of these motorists just happened to be people who voted against the incumbent sheriff in last month's election, but (sarcasm) I'm sure that had nothing to do with them being stopped and searched (/sarcasm).

Near the end of their shift, a deputy followed a car with Florida plates (that just happened to be driven by a black man) looking for a reason to pull it over, but neither deputy found any reason to stop it. The first deputy allegedly received a call on his personal phone about the car being driven recklessly, but these deputies have been known to make up things like that.
