Lamborghini is producing its first SUV in decades

00:00 This is the first Lamborghini that's ever been officially brought to Iceland.

00:05 The first one right here.

00:06 No one's ever driven a Lamborghini on a road like this and never on this road.

00:11 I'm Scott Evans and this time on Behind the Wheel I'm driving the new Lamborghini Urus

00:15 in Iceland.

00:16 The Urus is a big deal for Lamborghini.

00:22 It's their second ever SUV.

00:23 Back in 1986 Lamborghini made the LM002.

00:27 They've been doing exotic SUVs way before anybody else.

00:32 Well this Urus has a 4 liter twin turbo V8 that makes 641 horsepower.

00:38 Lamborghini said that the LM would do 0-60 in 7.8 seconds.

00:42 This 3.5.

00:44 And to stop it the world's largest brakes.

00:47 17.3 inch brake rotors with 10 piston calipers.

00:53 This is about being the Lamborghini of SUVs.

00:58 It's not faking anything.

00:59 It's not pretending with all these sharp looks.

01:02 This thing is about performance.

01:04 It really does go around a racetrack and tear up a rally stage and kill this back road that

01:10 I'm scooting up here.

01:16 Now you world travelers out there might be wondering why would we bring a 600 horsepower

01:21 190 mile an hour super SUV to a country where the highest legal speed limit is 56 miles

01:28 per hour.

01:30 Well because it can do this.

01:38 This is what the Urus is really about.

01:41 What's amazing about this Urus off road is how much grip it has.

01:46 It's real mechanical grip too.

01:49 You know these aren't even special off road tires.

01:51 These are just the standard winter tires on this thing.

01:54 And it is just digging into this bumpy pothole old dirt road that we're jamming down.

02:02 With 627 pound feet of torque you can make this thing as sideways as you want it.

02:10 So the Urus has a standard air suspension and with that you get this big old lever down

02:17 here called the Tamburo.

02:19 What that does is switches you between seven different modes.

02:22 When you go into the off road modes like we're in right now.

02:25 Well it jacks suspension up an inch and a half.

02:29 Gives you off road stability control.

02:33 Gives you lighter steering.

02:35 Really just lets you go to town out here.

02:39 Like that.

02:40 Man.

02:41 Who wants to go slow when you've got 600 horsepower.

02:45 This thing is just a riot.

02:47 It's much more like a rally car than it is a low and slow off roader.

02:53 And this is what makes the Lamborghini Urus such an impressive vehicle.

02:58 Because it's not some frisky mall crawler.

03:02 It's not a poser mobile.

03:04 It's the real deal.

03:05 It does everything that they said it'll do.

03:08 This is the first Lamborghini that's made for Iceland.
