Hucknall Business Hub holds it's first public services day event

The new Hucknall Business Hub held a public services day event which Nottinghamshire Fire Service and the Army attended amongst others.

00:00 Hi, so I'm Gemma. I am the owner of 2020 Vision Group.

00:03 So under the group there is the business centre, which is this centre in Hucknall.

00:07 We've been here a couple of months now trying to get set up, but basically the idea is

00:12 having a public hub so it's access to public services.

00:15 So we'll have days once a month for the fire service, the police, the council

00:22 and other support services to come in for members of the public to access.

00:26 The idea around that is because I used to work in Hucknall for the council and there's

00:32 not currently a council office in Hucknall, a job centre, a citizens advice or anything

00:37 like that at the moment, so I think it will be a success.

00:41 So part of this is a gym. So the other side of the building is actually a gym, which is

00:46 why Ben's here. So there is a gym on site, which is why it might be a little bit confusing

00:51 at the moment, but they are separate businesses operating together under one roof.

00:57 So do you want to explain what you're doing Ben?

00:58 So yeah, so the plan was that is obviously just, I'm from Hucknall myself and there's

01:03 been a lot of gaps in business and wellbeing and fitness and this has just amplified during

01:10 Covid and so the plan was to help with all that.

01:14 So we've got a team of PTs that are here to just make fitness and wellbeing easier.

01:21 They've all got the different strengths, but the main thing is that they're all just

01:25 amazing people, so it's just to make that more accessible and better for everybody.

01:29 And then the same with the business hub side, that there's just sort of gaps and things

01:32 that are missing. So whether you're self-employed and wanting some help for your business, it's

01:37 to build on that. Whether you're working from home and you just want that bit of more

01:42 of an office environment occasionally to make it a bit easier or make it a bit more accessible,

01:47 then there's help with that. And obviously all the encompassing business are here to

01:52 build an add-on, whether you're a person, whether you're wanting something like Meals

01:56 on Wheels or fitness or just financial advice, there's somebody here that can help.
