Meet the Mansfield entrepreneur behind this 'credible' clothing brand

Harry Squires, behind Credible Clothing in Mansfield, speaks with your Chad about his growing business, five years after opening his first shop in town.

00:00My name is Harry Squires. I'm the owner of Credible Clothing here in Mansfield.

00:05Yeah, we're a recycled sustainable vintage clothing store. We have premise in Mansfield

00:11and in Nottingham and in Hockley and now we've got a warehouse operation at Intake Business Centre.

00:18Tell me a bit about how you started and where.

00:21We started on Westgate. We opened our first store in 2020 now and within the first year we just

00:27needed a larger premise so we moved over to Leeming Street. We've been over there for about

00:33since April 2021 so it's been a fair few years now and I sold that business as a franchise

00:39so somebody's still running the company over there and we're just on to the next operation

00:43which is the warehouse so focusing on e-commerce and the social media side of things a lot more

00:48online. In the warehouse we've actually been here six months now so still a new venture

00:53with big plans to expand. Like I said we've took a five-year lease with a one-year

00:59clause so there's potential that within six months time we're probably going to be

01:03looking to expand some more so hopefully we'll see how the future goes and it's exciting times

01:08for the future. A lot of retro, don't get me wrong, obviously vintage is 20 years plus so

01:14I would say only 20-30% is actually vintage, majority is retro, some new but we target the

01:20younger student audience. I'd say that the brands that are really booming right now are the Carhartt,

01:24the Stussy, the Palace, you know the higher end sort of pieces but we also get a lot of Stone

01:29Island, CP Company, all them sort of brands. So currently we've got eight on the books,

01:34four full-time, four part-time, a lot of them focusing on e-commerce, we've got a couple of

01:39social media experts, some pickers and packers because we've got a really large operation on

01:45Whatnot so that's an online live auction selling platform that we're doing 750 orders daily

01:52so yeah it's quite a lot to keep on top of but yeah if you make sure you go and see us on

01:58Whatnot. Any future plans? Yes, yeah we're always looking to expand so actually on the 8th of April

02:05with me and three other staff we're going over to Pakistan to meet some contacts so I've been

02:10talking to them since 2021 and it's finally I'm at the position in business that we can actually

02:15expand, get new contacts and hopefully grow as a business so it's exciting times for the future.
