हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार, भाद्रपद की अमावस्या को कुशग्रहणी अमावस्या और पिठोरी अमावस्या कहा जाता है। पंचांग के अनुसार इस साल भाद्रपद मास की अमावस्या 14 सितंबर को है। अमावस्या की शुरुआत 14 सितंबर की सुबह से 04:48 बजे से प्रारंभ होकर 15 सितंबर 2023 की सुबह 07:09 बजे तक रहेगी। पिठोरी अमावस्या पर देवी दुर्गा समेत 64 देवियों की आटे की आकृति बनाकर पूजने का विधान है। पिठोरी में पिठ शब्द का अर्थ आटा होता है, जिसके कारण ही इसे पिठोरी अमावस्या भी कहा जाता है।

According to the Hindu calendar, the Amavasya of Bhadrapada is called Kushgrahani Amavasya and Pithori Amavasya. According to the Panchang, this year the new moon day of Bhadrapada month is on 14th September. Amavasya will start from 04:48 am on 14th September and will continue till 07:09 am on 15th September 2023. On Pithori Amavasya, there is a tradition of making figures of 64 goddesses including Goddess Durga and worshiping them out of flour. In Pithori, the word Pith means flour, due to which it is also called Pithori Amavasya.
