Education Secretary and VP Sara Duterte graces launch of first ever mobile learning hub in Cebu

00:04 a cutting-edge mobile learning hub has been unveiled in the province of Cebu.

00:09 This innovative project aims to assist students who are unable to afford a formal education,

00:14 enabling them to pursue their goals for education and secure a brighter future.

00:45 A project of the Visayas Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in partnership with

00:52 the DICT, DIT, TESDA and Department of Education.

00:57 What makes the mobile e-learning hub truly special is its strategic placement

01:04 during community support programs conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

01:10 By situating these hubs within municipal halls, we ensure that access to education

01:18 and digital training becomes an integral part of community engagement efforts.

01:23 Short courses and skills training will be taught to students to help them find jobs,

01:30 a huge help for people who never had the chance to get a good education.

01:34 And one of the things that we have learned during the conduct of community support programs,

01:39 e kailangan nga ng mga kabataan natin ng additional support in terms of ICT and

01:44 itong ICT education. Kaya we came out with this kind of project, of course, with the

01:51 support of the other agencies, tsaka mga civilian organizations.

01:56 For this purpose, the DICT has provided 20 computers and laptops for the mobile learning hub.

02:03 The hub's setup can also be used for other purposes,

02:07 especially its solar-powered electrical system that can be helpful in times of calamity.
