00:00 When I first saw Emilio in the band, I felt like I had to do something.

00:05 My heart jumped to my throat and I felt the need to rescue him and protect him.

00:23 When I found him, what I did was I picked him and I ran to my mom's house to clean him,

00:32 clothe him and make sure that he was okay.

00:34 And my mom was even shocked when she saw me with the baby and the next morning we took

00:40 him to the doctor.

00:42 From the time that I found him, we've never known anybody that claimed him.

00:48 Even the police came to investigate to see anybody that would come and claim him and

00:53 nobody did.

00:55 When the judge asked me to be his legal guardian, that wasn't my expectations at all.

01:02 I was shocked when he told me that.

01:05 To be his legal guardian was going to be a lot of responsibility.

01:11 It took me days tossing and thinking about what am I going to do?

01:15 I couldn't even make end meets for my schooling and I was already behind.

01:24 And after that, I started thinking maybe there is a reason that I found him.

01:30 And I'm like, okay, I'm just going to take a leap of faith.

01:33 I'll do anything for this precious living soul, no matter what happens.

01:39 So I just said yes.

01:48 My mom is my hero.

01:50 And I would say she plays a really important part in this journey.

01:57 I didn't know what I was going to do and I was going to have to go back to school and

02:01 she had to take this task while I'm gone.

02:05 She's raising my kid right now like she was raising me.

02:08 It's incredible and it's so amazing to see.

02:19 I'm going to try to get him a visa and try to bring him here.

02:23 With having him, I want him to know that there is someone here for him.

02:28 So he would call me dad and I'll call him son.

02:33 The best thing having Emilio in my life is he taught me a lot of things,

02:38 to be strong, to be wise, and to be able to expect the unexpected in life.

02:44 I really think the future holds a lot of great things for me and Emilio.

02:49 He's grown up now and I can see him doing a lot of things.

02:54 This journey itself will inspire a lot of people.

03:01 If I would say one thing to the people that have abandoned him,

03:06 I would say what they did wasn't nice.

03:09 And now Emilio is in the good hand and

03:12 he was thrown to trash by them, now he's a treasure.
