Storms to cause delays for travelers in several parts of the US this week

From Boise to Miami, cities across the country are likely to face some minor travel delays on Aug. 3. AccuWeather's Ben Reppert breaks down what to expect.

00:03 also talking about some of the storms here too, Jeff. Yeah, and this is going to

00:07 lead to some travel trouble. Those thunderstorms are causing trouble once

00:11 again on the roads and for aviation as well. So if you're gonna be heading out

00:14 tomorrow, Ben Ruppert has what you need to know in tonight's travel forecast.

00:19 Rain will be falling on Thursday and travel delays unfortunately will

00:24 probably be rising on Thursday. We'll start you in the Pacific Northwest where

00:28 won't be a ton of showers and storms around at least along the I-5 corridor

00:32 looking good Seattle to Portland and even down to Reno. But a few storms in

00:35 the interior could cause some issues, especially into the afternoon, less in

00:40 the way of storms in the southwest where it is just hot triple digit heat once

00:43 you get inland, otherwise just a lot of sunshine. Although that I-25 corridor

00:47 from Cheyenne to Denver to Colorado Springs, some feisty thunderstorms in

00:52 the afternoon could cause some issues, especially for Denver. It doesn't take

00:55 much there with of course how busy the airport is in Denver. Into the northern

00:59 plains we go from the northern Rockies through the Dakotas and even over into

01:02 Minnesota along a cold front. Some showers and storms could lead to some

01:05 minor issues in the afternoon, but south of the front less in the way of delays

01:09 from Omaha to Kansas City. Southern plains, it's just hot and dry. No storms

01:15 in Little Rock but 104 degrees. Showers and storms popping up through much of

01:19 the southeast could cause some issues in the afternoon from Nashville to

01:22 Atlanta and then down through much of Florida. Smooth sailing across the

01:26 Midwest and eastern Great Lakes, a lot of sunshine and seasonable pop-up storms

01:30 in the northeast could lead to some minor issues in the afternoon. Boston

01:33 you're probably dry, but we could see some ripple effects there. Looking fairly

01:37 good down I-95. We think the rain holds off, but storms get to you by Friday and

01:42 that's when that exclusive AccuWeather forecast for flight cancellations goes

01:46 way up.
