Phuket officials went into emergency mode on Friday after a foreign tourist climbed on the roof of Phra Mahathat Chedi at Wat Chalong in Phuket's Mueang district.

Provincial officials rushed to the scene to persuade the tourist to climb down from the 20-metre high pagoda. They also prepared an airbag to prevent any accident.
