Birmingham headlines 29 June: Birmingham City Council admits it can’t afford to pay £760m equal pay liability
Birmingham City Council has made an alarming admission that it can't afford to pay its equal pay liability - currently in the region of £650m and £760m. The local authority has said that it is in discussions with the central government Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities.

Four men were injured in two separate disorder incidents in Sparkhill and Alum Rock on Tuesday. Police said they do not believe the incidents are linked - but are stepping up patrols in each area to offer reassurance to residents as they continue to investigate.

Residents around the Southside district have spoken out against loud and dangerous quad bikers driving around their neighbourhood. An incident was caught on camera on Sunday evening near The Arcadian where the 'boy racers' can be seen jumping red lights.
