The Gothic is a style associated with late medieval English art and architecture. The Nature of the Gothic, that the late medieval period encompassed includes irregularity, variety and naturalism. The house is a Grade one listed building and the mansion was bought by William Gibbs in 1843 after he came into a huge fortune selling fertiliser. The Gibbs family owned the house until the death of Richard Gibbs in 2001. But there is a darker side to the house?
