Bedminster’ a St Catherines shopping centre has been dubbed the saddest in the country. Developer, Firmstone was granted permission to build three apartment blocks in 2021, promising to regenerate the ‘neglected area’ of East Street “by building new homes, creating vibrant new spaces and frontages”. The plans also included 180 homes to be built on the land. However these plans were later refused for what they described as a more modest but less economically viable scheme. But what do locals want to see for the site?
