If all goes to plan in fifteen years or so astronauts could be on their way to Mars. Nasa wants to send a mission to the red planet - and ultimately set up a permanent base there. But when it comes to colonising an alien world - scientists are discovering the age-old importance of location, location, location. The BBC's Tim Allman explains.
