Disney Ditches Florida Campus

  • last year
Disney ($DIS@US) has canceled its plans to build a new employee campus in Lake Nona, Florida, citing "changing business conditions" and rising tensions with Florida's governor Ron DeSantis. Josh D'Amaro, chairman of Disney's parks, experiences, and products division, announced the decision in a memo to employees, stating that the company will not be asking California-based employees to relocate to Florida. Disney's decision comes amid a dispute between the company and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The company filed a lawsuit accusing the governor and the new board members of its special district of engaging in political retribution. Disney remains committed to investing $17 billion in Florida over the next decade and plans to add around 13,000 jobs.
