Northern Territory Government to extend takeaway restrictions in Alice Springs
  • last year
The Northern Territory government will extend takeaway alcohol restrictions in Alice Springs. It means Mondays and Tuesdays will remain as takeaway alcohol-free days on other days alcohol can only be sold between 3 and 7 pm and only one sale per day per person. The territory government is confident the new restrictions have worked saying domestic violence has dropped by a third in the month since the rules were reintroduced. Alcohol related emergency presentations at Alice Springs hospital have also halved.
