Federal Government to spend $150 million to protect water quality

  • last year
The Federal Government will spend 150 million dollars to protect the Great Barrier Reef's water quality. The funding is part of the government's 1 point 2-billion-dollar reef package announced in October. The money will be used for vegetation and new fencing to minimise sediment runoff. The program will also support traditional landowners to identify projects and care for country.
