Easter event roundup in Manchester: From egg-hunts to free egg-cup shots

  • last year
Easter Sunday falls on April 9 this year, and many are eagerly anticipating the 4-day bank holiday weekend.

Although the date fluctuates each year, there are always plenty of easter-themed activities, with egg-hunts, bonnet-making and other crafts becoming festive traditions for children and adults to get involved with.

Here's a run-down of what events are going on over the next few weeks:

Manchester City Council is packing a number of parks in the city-region with plenty of exciting activities. Heaton Park is bringing back its big Easter Egg hunt over Easter weekend on April 8 and 9.

Fog Lane Park in Manchester will be running The Great Bunny hunt from the 1st to the 16th of April.

Cringle Park in Levenshulme will be holding its Easter Treasure Hunt on Good Friday April 7, where there will be music, food, ice creams and a tabletop sale organised in partnership with Grounded MCR.

For the slightly older adventurers - although people of all ages are welcome to join - Escape Hunt has launched their new City Hunt adventure in time for Easter.

The 90 minute Alice in Wonderland-themed quest will start at Escape Hunt at the corn exchange at selected times between the 28th of March and the 30th of April.

20 stories will host a sky-high easter children's egg-decorating masterclass between 11am and 12pm on Tuesday April 11.

Children will become chefs for the morning, be taught chocolate piping techniques, and let loose with their own eggs to decorate.

For the over-18s, Revolution Bars is bringing free shots to those who bring their own egg-cups to one of their bars.

If you find an old egg-cup at the back of your cupboard, take it down to get a free revolution flavour shot of your choice.

The bar franchise is also hiding 30 branded egg cups around its 48 sites across the UK for its widespread Easter egg-cup hunt, and if you happen to find one you can claim a free grey-goose-inspired cocktail.

There are plenty more events around Manchester for those excited to get involved in easter-themed activities, so make sure to keep up-to-date with our what's on guides to find out more.
