Twenty-two years ago, Nagendran Raju was a Form Six student at SMK Dato Jaafar in Johor Baru. Praying for good results for his Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examination, he vowed to carry a kavadi during Thaipusam for Lord Murugan. For the past two decades, Nagendran has been fulfilling his vow as long as he can.
