Parts of the state's north are facing a one in 100 year flooding emergency, which has forced residents to evacuate, and may leave some Kimberley communities isolated for a week. Ex tropical cyclone Ellie has brought more than 500 millimetres of rain to some locations over the past week, with the Fitzroy River reaching its highest level on record.
