TEMPO.CO, Jakarta, Indonesia: Jerinx, a drummer of the punk rock band from Bali, Indonesia, the Superman is Dead, was chosen as one of People Volunteer 2014 of Tempo magazine.
Jerinx SID move young people to speak out loud refuse reclamation Benoa Bay, Bali. They are members of the volunteer ForBALI, People's Forum Bali Reject Reclamation. They are persistent, creative, and voluntary. They held a cultural parade with parading Ogoh-ogoh from Renon Square to the House of Parliament, Denpasar, Bali, on Friday, November 28th, 2014.
Jerinx persistent invite his friends, fellow musicians to join. ForBALI also build a network with those who oppose reclamation Benoa Bay in a number of cities. Why Jerinx moved convey these concerns?
"My love for this genre of the rock punc music, after I studied the genre music history and philosophy, I feel that the energy in the genre of punk rock music is change and rebellion. In my opinion, if we just sing, shout, do not take action in the streets, is not effective to make changes. A current real example, namely the case of Benoa Bay, which we are opponent the party that has the financial strength and influence, I do not see that we opposed them with music only, with the song, it will not be effective. I mean it is not a comic character, but the man who thinks he is super," Jerinx said to the Tempo reporter.
