Halloween Stampede In Itaewon, Seoul: 151 Killed, Several Injured In Deadliest Stampede In South Korea’s History

In a tragic incident, 151 people were killed in stampede at a market in Seoul, South Korea. Over 100 people were also left injured in Seoul’s Itaewon district. Mostly teens and people in the 20s had gathered for Halloween. President Yoon Suk-yeol declared a period of national mourning on October 30. Nineteen foreigners were among those killed, the fire department officials said as reported by AFP. Reportedly, of the people who lost their lives in the tragedy, 97 were females and 54 were males. India’s External Affairs minister S Jaishankar expressed shock. US President Joe Biden tweeted, “Jill and I send our deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones in Seoul.” Newly elected UK PM Rishi Sunak tweeted, “Horrific news from Seoul tonight.” Watch the video to know more.
