The former head of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says taxes must be increased to pay for the services the public demand. Rod Sims will not only argue for a tightening on companies paying higher taxes, but also advocate a carbon tax on the mining and energy sector, as he says, there needs to be a discussion about how to fund necessary government spending.
