Lorry driver from Crawley convicted after hitting A23 bridge near Warninglid with digger bucket
  • 2 years ago
A lorry driver who caused hours of delays on the A23 after a digger bucket struck a bridge has been disqualified from driving for one year, Sussex Police have said.
Police said Joshua Scofield, of Wells Road, Crawley, was driving southbound at Warninglid on November 3, 2021, and had not safely stowed the large digger bucket on the back of his vehicle.
Scofield, 30, had failed to lower the crane, said police, despite an alarm system on the vehicle that warned him about the fault.
