J&K: Non-locals can vote in the elections, details here

For the first time after independence, there has been a big change in the electoral process of Jammu and Kashmir. The Election Commission has said that now any Indian citizen living in Jammu and Kashmir will be able to vote in the elections there. For this, the voter does not need the Domicile of Jammu and Kashmir, that is, the local residence certificate. Indian citizens residing in Jammu and Kashmir can apply for getting their names added to the voter list from 15 September. And this process will continue till October 25.
