Phase 1 voting of Assembly Elections in Bengal-Assam begin

Polling in phase 1 of West Bengal and Assam Assembly elections will be held on Saturday with over 1.54 crore voters set to exercise their franchise. The voting in the West Bengal and Assam Assembly elections began at 7 am and will conclude at 6 pm. An hour has been extended for polling in view of the coronavirus pandemic. In West Bengal, voting will be held for 30 seats while in Assam, 47 seats are going to polls in the first phase.
