Chinese ‘spy’ ship docks at Sri Lanka port
  • 2 years ago
As scheduled, Yuan Wang 5, a tracking and satellite support vessel, reached Hambantota port in Sri Lanka despite India’s objection to putting the ship in Lankan waters.

The Indian Government had earlier raised security concerns based on input the Yuan Wang 5 was to assist Chinese spy satellites over the Indian Ocean from August to September. Similar concerns were raised by the US Government which delayed the Yuan Wang 5 arrival at Hambantota port on 11th August.
