The Parliament Monsoon Session kicked off today. The session will have a total of 17 working days and will continue till August 12. The session began with the voting for the President of India. The results for the election will be declared on July 21.
Meanwhile, opposition parties have picked former Union Minister and veteran Congress leader Margaret Alva as their joint candidate for the Vice presidential election.
The decision was announced by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar after an all-party meet by the opposition parties in New Delhi.
