they complete the four-year training.

Due to the turmoil created by protesting job-seekers, the government immediately went on to the
backfoot. Having been red-faced due to the roll back of the Farm Reforms, it did not want to end up in a
similar situation. Hence, the government also fell into the trap and started commenting on this trivial
issue.

In our country, any 25-year-old with 11-12 Lakhs and a four-year army training is fully capable to fend
for himself and get into a decent profession. There are lakhs of students who come out from our
education factories and still manage to get employed albeit with more struggle.

The issue remains, and which is most critical, is that what will happen to the Indian Army over the
coming years. How many contract trainees will be recruited? What will be the dependency of the Army
on these Agniveers? Will the army’s might be dented?
