There are some fasting festivals in Hinduism which have special significance. Among these, fasting on Pradosh, Chaturthi and Ekadashi Tithi is considered very virtuous and beneficial. Two Ekadashi fasts are observed in every month. Ekadashi fast is observed to please Lord Vishnu. In this type, a total of 24 Ekadashis come in a year, which have different significance. Nirjala Ekadashi has special significance among all Ekadashi. According to the Hindu calendar, the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi is observed on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. This time Nirjala Ekadashi will be celebrated on 10th June 2022, Friday. In Nirjala Ekadashi fasting, fasting is observed throughout the day without drinking water and eating. For this reason it is considered to be the most difficult fast among all Ekadashis. In this fast, Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi are worshiped and worshiped without drinking water, for this reason it is known as Nirjala Ekadashi. According to the scriptures, all the Ekadashis that take place in a whole year, the fruits of all those are obtained by observing the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi only. Ekadashi itself is Vishnupriya, so on this day, by doing waterless fasting, chanting, charity and charity, the creature attains salvation by attaining the company of Shri Hari and being freed from the Bondage of life and death.

हिंदू धर्म में कुछ व्रत-त्योहार ऐसे होते हैं जिनका विशेष महत्व होता है। इनमें प्रदोष, चतुर्थी और एकादशी तिथि पर उपवास रखना काफी पुण्य और कल्याणकारी माना जाता है। हर एक माह में दो एकादशी का व्रत रखा जाता है। भगवान विष्णु को प्रसन्न करने के लिए एकादशी व्रत किया जाता है। इस प्रकार में साल भर में कुल 24 एकादशियां आती हैं जिनका अलग-अलग महत्व होता है। सभी एकादशी में निर्जला एकादशी का खास महत्व होता है। हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार निर्जला एकादशी का व्रत ज्येष्ठ माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी तिथि पर मनाई जाती है। इस बार निर्जला एकादशी 10 जून 2022, शुक्रवार के दिन मनाई जाएगी। निर्जला एकादशी व्रत में पूरे दिन बिना पानी पीए और खाए दिनभर उपवास रखा जाता है। इस कारण से सभी एकादशियों में यह सबसे कठिन व्रत माना जाता है। इस व्रत में बिना पानी पीए भगवान विष्णु और माता लक्ष्मी की पूजा और आराधना की जाती इस कारण से इसे निर्जला एकादशी के नाम जाना जाता है। शास्त्रों के अनुसार,पूरे साल भर में जितनी एकादशियां होती हैं,उन सबका फल मात्र निर्जला एकादशी का व्रत रखने से प्राप्त हो जाता है। एकादशी स्वयं विष्णुप्रिया है इसलिए इस दिन निर्जल व्रत,जप-तप,दान-पुण्य करने से प्राणी श्री हरि का सानिध्य प्राप्त कर जीवन-मरण के बंधन से मुक्त होकर मोक्ष को प्राप्त करता है।
