Pixie Lott was joined by celebrity pals at her wedding at the historic Ely Cathedral today as scores of cheering locals watched on. The popstar, 31, married model Oliver Cheshire, 34, in a stunning ceremony in the 939-year-old cathedral in Cambridgeshire. The couple's star-studded guest list counted 300 people and included celebs such as McFly's Danny Jones and TOWIE's Tom Pearce. Today, the enamoured newlyweds were greeted by cheering locals as they emerged from the magnificent city cathedral. Blonde-haired Pixie - wearing a stunning off-shoulder wedding dress - beamed with Oliver as they were showered in confetti by bridesmaids and groomsmen. The couple, who were forced to cancel their big day several times due to the Covid pandemic, held hands and danced as a brass band played Celebration by Kool & The Gang before they retreated into the cathedral a minute later. Pixie and Oliver's religious service, which last over an hour, began with a prayer followed by a rendition of All Things Bright and Beautiful. It was followed by more hymns, according to an 11-page Order of Service given to guests, and finished with Mendelssohn's iconic Wedding March. Outside, around 200 locals anxiously to catch a glimpse of celebrity guests as rumours abounded of Ed Sheeran and Simon Cowell attending. Craig Slaver, 38, visited the cathedral on his day off. He said: “I’m not really a big Pixie Lott fan but the wedding has created a real buzz in the city. “People are getting excited every time a black car goes by. I want to see Ed Sheeran most of all." Another local Gloria Brooks, 74, waited outside with her husband Trevor, 79, who admitted he was clueless as to who Pixie Lott was. Trevor said: “I don’t think I’d recognise her if I saw her," before Gloria interrupted: “I think she’s famous for that show The Voice with Tom Jones." When Pixie and Oliver finally emerged from the cathedral at around 2pm they were cheered by the crowd, which included local school children, pensioners and babies. Bystanders formed a line for the wedding guests and newlyweds to walk into while the brass band played renditions of It Must Be Love and One Love. Oliver looked dapper as he wore a black three-piece suit for his special day. Meanwhile, Pixie wore a beautiful white dress and completed her look with jewels selected by specialist jeweller Nathalie Sophie Knauf.
