Prime Minister Morrison continues to defend controversial candidate
  • 2 years ago
The Prime Minister continues to defend a controversial New South Wales candidate - saying average Australians want to debate issues freely. Scott Morrison’s hand-picked candidate for Warringah Katherine Deves has been criticised for several transphobic remarks. They include describing trans teenagers as 'surgically mutilated' and likening her activism to stop trans women competing in women's sport to resisting the holocaust. Mr Morrison is still backing Ms Deves saying she has apologised for her comments.
