Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam will not seek a second term as city’s chief executive

Hong Kong Chief Executive Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor announced on April 4, 2022, that she will not be seeking a second term. Carrie said she informed China’s central government of her intention in March 2021, while she was in Beijing to attend the annual “two sessions” meetings of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
