Eight sarpanches and four committee members filed nomination papers for the Asureshwar village panchayat elections.
The three-tier panchayat elections were held on the 19th and 21st of this month after the trumpets were blown up. Four candidates filed their nominations on the third day, while four others filed their nominations last Friday. Gautami Das, Nirupama Barik, Pratima Singh, Rajalakshmi Singh, Samina Begum, Jayanti Singh, Rajalakshmi Sahu Kajal Priyadarshini, Jharna Sahu, Gitanjali Patra, Himadri Mishra filed nomination papers at the Nishchintkoili Panchayat Samiti office in the Nishchintkoili Panchayat Samiti office as members of the committee. Sarpanch and Samiti member Patini are waiting to see who will win the by-elections.
