Disney Doubles CEO Pay

The Walt Disney Company ($DIS@US) CEO Bob Chapek’s compensation rose to $32.5 million in 2021, according to a statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday. This is more than double the $14.2 million he earned in the previous year. The Disney CEO was granted stock awards worth a total of $10.2 million at options valued at $3.75 million. Disney also announced the creation of an International Content Group. The group will oversee Disney teams in the Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, and Latin America. Yesterday, Disney shares closed 1.4% lower at $150.11 in the regular session.
