Despite policy uncertainty and global risks, retail investors are cautiously optimistic about the stock market.

00:00So we're talking retail investor sentiment.
00:03How are investors feeling right now?
00:05I think cautiously optimistic.
00:07We just surveyed our readers.
00:08Every two months we talk to our newsletter readers.
00:10We ask them, how are you feeling?
00:11Are you bullish?
00:12Are you bearish?
00:12What are you buying?
00:13What are you afraid of right now?
00:14We've been tracking this very closely,
00:16especially over the past six months,
00:18and they're finally feeling a little bit better about things,
00:20but still a little bit skeptical about the future
00:22just because of the policy confusion.
00:25We've seen so much volatility in the stock market,
00:27but they've got to love the rally,
00:28and they've got to love the trend,
00:29and most of them have kind of stayed put
00:31and kept to their investing strategies throughout all of this,
00:34and some of them even stepping out
00:36and buying the dip a few times.
00:37Finally feeling better about things,
00:39the market's at all-time highs right now,
00:41but to your point, there is a lot of economic uncertainty.
00:44There's some geopolitical turmoil.
00:47Still, there's a lot of uncertainty
00:48about what's going to happen with tariffs
00:50as those deadlines loom.
00:52Why do you think that they're not more panicked at this point?
00:55Because I think they've seen a lot of push and pull
00:57on the policy side,
00:58a lot of threats that were pulled back later on
01:01that didn't end up coming to fruition,
01:03and they've also seen the stock market
01:04kind of rebound throughout all of this.
01:06We bounced back from that 19% drop,
01:08came right to the edge of a bear market,
01:10but it ended up being a cute little correction
01:11because it was over in a couple of weeks
01:13as the 90-day extension was put into place,
01:16so they've seen that happen.
01:18They've also seen their favorite stocks rebound aggressively,
01:20and I'm talking about the NVIDIAs,
01:22the Teslas of the world,
01:23even some of the other mega-cap tech stocks.
01:25They've seen them drop.
01:26A lot of them, as I said, did some dip buying,
01:29and they've been rewarded for that.
01:30Global fund managers, institutional investors,
01:33much more bearish and have been much more bearish
01:35even throughout the recovery.
01:36They're protecting their clients' money,
01:38but individual investors have done the right thing,
01:40sometimes just stand there and do nothing,
01:41or be opportunistic when things are on sale.
01:43They're protecting their clients' money.
