Covid-19: Eight-year-old girl is second Omicron case detected in the country

Malaysia has detected the second case of the Covid-19 Omicron variant, after a eight-year-old patient returned from Nigeria with her family tested positive for the variant.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced that on Thursday (Dec 16), adding that there are 18 more probable cases that are currently undergoing genomic sequencing to determine the type of variant and the results are expected to be known on Friday.
