Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on December 06 attended funeral service of civilians who were killed during security forces’ anti-insurgency operation at Oting in Mon district. The Chief Minister ordered a high-level probe. Speaking to media, the CM Rio said that the State Government asked Central Government to remove Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from Nagaland.

“I have spoken to Union Home Minister. He is taking the matter very seriously. We have given financial assistance to affected families. We are asking Central government to remove Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from Nagaland. This law has blackened the image of our country,” he said.
