सुहागिन महिलाओं का सबसे बड़ा पर्व करवा चौथ 24 अक्टूबर, रविवार (Karwa Chauth 24, Oct) के दिन मनाया जाएगा. इस दिन महिलाएं अपने पति की लंबी आयु की कामना करती हैं और उनकी सुख-समृद्धि के लिए निर्जला व्रत (Nirjala Vrat On Karwa Chauth) रखती हैं. इस दिन 16 ऋंगार का बहुत महत्व है. कहते हैं कि माता पार्वती को सजी- संवरी महिलाएं अत्यंत प्रिय हैं. इसलिए इस दिन महिलाएं ऋंगार करके माता पार्वती की अराधना करती हैं. करवा चौथ को लेकर महिलाएं में कई दिन पहले से ही तैयारी शुरू कर देती हैं. और व्रत के दिन सूर्योदय के बाद से नर्जिला व्रत रखती हैं. रात के समय गणेश जी, भगवान शिव और माता पार्वती की पूजा करती हैं और चंद्रोदय के बाद चांद के दर्शन करके व्रत पारण किया जाता है.
