It may sound a bit strange to have freckles in the eyes, but it is actually very common and does not cause any harm to your eyes. However, in very rare cases it can turn into a type of cancer called melanoma. Therefore, whether the eye freckles are old or new, they must be checked. Eye freckles are called spots present in the eyes. Sometimes you may or may not see it. It can be anywhere from your eye ball to the outer part. There are many different types of eye freckles. One of these is technically called a nevus. Nevus means mole. It is quite easy to spot them. On the other hand, other eye freckles are hidden behind your eyes and can only be seen by an eye specialist and hence these freckles are known only after an eye exam.
