Amazon May Have Perjured Itself

Five members of the House Judiciary Committee penned a letter to Amazon ($AMZN@US) Chief Executive Andy Jassy, alleging that high-ranking executives of the firm have been lying to or misleading Congress. The Committee also noted that it may need to refer the matter to the Department of Justice. The letter follows reporting from Reuters that demonstrated a longstanding Amazon scheme to manipulate search results and promote its house brands. Even so, Amazon stock rose over 3% in early trading.
