भाद्रपद माह के कृष्ण पक्ष की षष्ठी को यह पर्व भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के ज्येष्ठ भ्राता श्री बलरामजी के जन्मोत्सव के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इसी दिन श्री बलरामजी का जन्म हुआ था। यह व्रत संतान की लम्बी आयु के लिए माताओं द्वारा रखा जाता है। पुत्रों की दीर्घायु और सुख-संपन्नता के लिए हल षष्ठी का व्रत बेहद की खास माना जाता है। क्षेत्र में हलछठ का पर्व श्रद्धा व उत्साह के साथ मनाया जाएगा। खासकर हलछठ का व्रत माताओं द्वारा पुत्रों की दीर्घायु के लिए रखा रखा जाता है। हलषष्ठी व्रत में महिलाएं प्रात:काल से ही स्नान आदि से निवृत होकर नित्यकर्म करने के पश्चात् हलषष्ठी व्रत धारण करने का संकल्प उत्तराभिमुख होकर करती हैं। बलराम जयंती पर होने वाले इस पर्व पर हल की पूजा अर्चना होती है।

The festival of Halchath will be celebrated with reverence and enthusiasm in the region. Especially the fast of Halchath is kept by the mothers for the longevity of their sons. In the Halashti fast, women take a vow to observe the Halashthi fast from the north-facing side, after retiring from bathing etc. Plow is worshiped on this festival which is held on Balaram Jayanti.
