'Awe-inspiring video of tourists having an insanely close encounter with a humpback whale swimming in the waters around Vancouver Island.

The filmer, Frits Becker had the following to say about his experience: "In order to boost our chances of seeing whales in all their glory, we went to Canada - Vancouver island. Before we knew it, these magnificent creatures were all around us."

He continued: "We were watching the killer whales when all of a sudden, a humpback appeared behind us, about 100 meters away and we did not think much of it as it went under pretty fast, but eventually, it ended up right next to our boat and literally checked the boat and us humans out. Most of us looked right into its eye and it just kept circling the boat."

The filmer added: "It was a day to remember. In total, we saw Southern and Northern killer whales, got mugged by 1 humpback whale, and encountered 2 hunting humpback whales that did bubble-net feeding around our boat."
