India started their Day 9 campaign with a defeat, as I boxer Satish Kumar crashed out of the men's super heavyweight category at the Tokyo Olympics. Indian boxer Satish Kumar lost by a unanimous decision against Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan in the men's Super Heavy category quarterfinal.

भारतीय मुक्केबाज Satish Kumar विश्व चैम्पियन Bakhodir Jalolov के खिलाफ अच्छे प्रदर्शन के बावजूद क्वार्टर में हारकर बाहर हो गए. प्री-क्वार्टर फाइनल में लगी चोटों के कारण माथे और ठोड़ी पर 7 टांके लगवाकर उतरे Satish Kumar 0-5 से हारे. उन्हें जमैका के रिकार्डो ब्राउन के खिलाफ प्री-क्वार्टर फाइनल में दो कट लगे थे. इस मुकाबले में Satish Kumar ने विश्व के नंबर एक मुक्केबाज के खिलाफ सरेंडर नहीं किया। वो लगातार लड़ते रहे।
