Vladimir Putin has signed a law that will allow him to run for the presidency twice more in his lifetime, potentially keeping him in office until 2036. The Russian president signed the legislation on Monday, ending a year-long process to “reset” his presidential terms by rewriting the constitution through a referendum-like process that his critics have called a crude power grab.

रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन ने एक नए कानून पर हस्ताक्षर कर दिए हैं. इस कानून पर हस्ताक्षर करने के साथ ही पुतिन के 2036 तक रूस की सत्ता में बने रहने का रास्ता साफ हो गया है. रूस के संविधान के मुताबिक, कोई भी व्यक्ति लगातार दो कार्यकाल से ज्यादा राष्ट्रपति नहीं बन सकता, लेकिन नए कानून के आने के बाद पुतिन 2024 में फिर से राष्ट्रपति की दावेदारी पेश कर सकते हैं. व्लादिमीर पुतिन 2018 में चौथी बार रूस के राष्ट्रपति बने थे और 2024 में उनका कार्यकाल खत्म होने वाला है.
