Covid-19: India crosses 1 lakh mark, states impose new restrictions

India recorded more than one lakh Covid-19 cases in a span of 24 hours on Sunday, the highest single-day rise in infections since the pandemic began last year. India's total active caseload has reached 7,41,830. Eight states, including Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, have emerged as major contributors to the daily caseload.
