The United States is imposing new restrictions on Chinese diplomats,... requiring them to seek U.S. government approval for a number of activities.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo explained Wednesday that senior Chinese diplomats need approval when they visit university campuses and meet with local government officials.
Pompeo added cultural events with over 50 people hosted by the Chinese embassy or consular posts outside the missions' properties will also require prior approval.
