ICC likley to announce decision on Soft Signal and Umpire's call | Oneindia Sports

The contentious Umpires' Call, which has been lambasted as confusing by India captain Virat Kohli, will be discussed by the Anil Kumble-led ICC Cricket Committee during a slew of meetings in cricket's world governing body starting later this week. The all powerful board meet is scheduled for March 30, the day under-fire Chief Executive Manu Sawhney's future will also come up for discussion. While Kohli, after a few debatable Umpires' Calls, has said that the rule is "confusing" and LBWs should be decided solely on whether the ball is hitting the stumps, even if marginally.

अम्पायर्स कॉल, काफी दिनों से इसको लेकर विवाद चल रहा है. अम्पायर्स कॉल को लेकर हाल ही में विराट कोहली ने खूब आलोचना की थी. कोहली ने कहा था कि मुझे ये कभी समझ नहीं आता. अम्पायर्स कॉल को हटा देना चाहिए. वरना, किसी बड़े मैच में कोई भी टीम इस अम्पायर्स कॉल का शिकार हो सकता है. और इस पर किसी का कंट्रोल नहीं है. इतना ही नहीं, सॉफ्ट सिग्नल भी विवाद का एक बड़ा कारण रह चुका है. ये सॉफ्ट सिग्नल ऐसा नियम है. जिसपर थर्ड अम्पायर और तकनीकों का भी कुछ फायदा नहीं है. फैसले का सारा दारोमदार मैदानी अम्पायर पर निर्भर करता है. अगर, अम्पायर को लगता है कि बल्लेबाज आउट है. और इसके बाद थर्ड अम्पायर को रेफर किया जाता है.
